Thanks for visiting altarpiece. Although I no longer post regularly, I still receive a fair amount of traffic to pasts posts, for which I am grateful.  It's nice to know there are a few wandering souls who are looking for the sorts of things to be found at altarpiece.

As for myself, I have moved on to other projects. Most notably, I am making a feature-length film called Captivity. To compare the style and tone (at least as I currently intend them) to some of my favorite directors: Kelly Reichardt, Derek Cianfrance, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, David Lynch, Michelangelo Antonioni, Richard Linklater, etc.

Recently, I have launched a crowdfunding campaign for the film, where you can learn more about it, watch a short "mood" video, and perhaps discover some facts about me: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/captivity-cinema-drama#/

Even if you don't want to contribute, I would be deeply grateful if you would just look. If you can’t afford more, you can contribute $1 to "subscribe" to updates through the crowdfunding platform. This also helps me by increasing the number of contributors so my campaign can be featured on the platform.

As any surviving readers of this blog will know, I loathe self-promotion, asking for help, revealing information about myself on the internet, and just about everything having to do with money--so this is deeply uncomfortable for me. But, in Ovid's words, "virtue aims at what is arduous."

And, further, a few appropriate lines from Emily Dickenson:
The eagle of his nest
No easier divest
And gain the sky,
Than mayest thou,
Except thyself may be
Thine enemy;
Captivity is consciousness,
So’s liberty.
